After 19.5 years at Microsoft, I’m closing one incredible chapter and preparing for the next.
It’s hard to put nearly two decades into a few paragraphs. Microsoft has been a place where I grew up professionally, learned from some of the smartest people in the industry, worked with amazing customers, and had the privilege of being part of major shifts in technology — from SQL Server and business intelligence to Azure, cloud modernization, data platforms, analytics, and AI.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with customers on some of their most important technology decisions: modernizing legacy systems, moving mission-critical workloads to the cloud, building data platforms, improving analytics, and helping organizations think differently about what’s possible with AI. Those conversations have shaped me. They taught me that technology is never just about infrastructure, databases, or platforms. It’s about business outcomes, people, trust, and execution.
I’m deeply grateful to the colleagues, leaders, partners, and customers who have been part of this journey. I’ve learned from so many people along the way, and I’m proud of the relationships built over the years.
While I’m leaving Microsoft, I am not leaving the work that has energized me for most of my career.
My future will continue to be rooted in cloud, databases, data platforms, analytics, and AI. I remain passionate about helping enterprises modernize, simplify, and unlock value from their data. The database and cloud markets are only getting more important as companies rethink their architectures for an AI-driven world. That is where I want to keep contributing.
So this is both a thank you and a new beginning.
Thank you, Microsoft, for nearly two decades of learning, growth, challenge, and opportunity.
And thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far. I’m excited for what comes next.
Congrats, my friend! Best of luck to you in whatever comes next!
